Doddering and old

Gosh, I've noticed in the last 2 years that I've taken to lecturing people a lot.

Or trying to impart my extensive knowledge to them (like they care).

Or getting frustrated when I see things not being done the way they should, or being done like it was in the good old days.

Then it hit me. I've turned into an old woman!

They say you're only as young as you feel. Well, looks you can apply it in reverse as well. I'm young, but I feel like I'm 70 years old and see my maker coming for me, so I should teach all these young 'uns the ropes before all my years of experience are lost to the world forever.

And in typical fashion, the young 'uns are not listening. Cuz ... "Whaddya YOU know, grandma?" ... life has come full circle for me already, and I haven't even hit menopause yet!

God, I am old ....

OK...here's the deal. YOU: Baby Boomer, THEM: Generation X and Generation Y.

YOU: Being Baby Boomer, still hold traditional values, traditional work ethics, so called "old-school" ethics and way of thinking..

THEM: Being Generation Xs and Ys, cant fathom life without Hphones, Internet,IPods and CD players and Astro.

Then comes the new Generation "I": All about ME, ME, ME..they change jobs as and when they feel not appreciated, cannot believe Michael Jackson was Black once(if they even KNOW who the dude is in the first place!)

So we Baby boomers are actually the mixed/confused tribe. We appreciate and remember the old ways yet can functionally embrace the new innovations and ideas.

The smarter ones will listen and emulate you..the ignorant ones will say ur ideas are outdated.

So enjoy yourself as you see them stumble their way thru life when "Friends" was taken off air, laugh when Ipod comes out with a smaller, sleeker & cheaper model 2 weeks after they got the latest and cringe as they go about their "extensive" work life experience of 2 months intership at a MNC.

Your not old...30s are the new 20s!

Wow. Good response Kevin!

Are we Baby Boomers though? I thought we were Generation X or something who came after. Who keeps track of these things so I can go check?!?!?!

But I agree with you on the whining new generation that expect to be treated like royalty and given their weight in gold just cuz they *gasp* graduated from university and have exactly 3 months work experience.

Earn by merit, ya little pissants!

Uh yeah.. my sis ain't THAT kinda old! Baby boomers are born in the years from 1945-1960. Then everything after that is Gen X until 1980-ish (so they say but I class myself part of Gen X due to growing up with Gen X siblings). The Gen Y's are all boring and Gen Z's are stupid. It's a sad world.

Yeah, this next generation (baby in my stomach) will be considered Baby Boomers Part II. Most of Generation Y's and Z's are stupid.

Wow! The best description of my experience I can find. The foods mentioned are right in point even though banana is a culprit also. Milo and milk one of the worst. Thanks for sharing
